Quashing the Need for Approval

Yes, we all need approval, and even if I try to quash it, it will live on.

But when I find myself slanting my writing specifically to elicit a response, I need to adjust my settings.

As of January 1st, I’m turning off comments on this blog. I want to free up some emotional energy for writing. This will help.

You already know where to find me if you want to chat. It’s not about turning off the conversation.

  1. Hokay…
I truly hope that “free[ing] up some emotional energy for writing” works for you!

Me, I’ll miss the opportunity to read and interact with the rest of your regulars (especially Caitlyn). But, that certainly doesn’t need to be YOUR primary concern, Joel!

Progress is GOOD – even baby steps! K

    1. That’s a concern for me as well, Karen.

I’ve been considering creating a forum for the types of conversations we all like to have, to separate that from my need to write more freely.

        1. I’d need to make it secure, but you’d be able to use the same username / password you use somewhere else, if you wanted. And I’d probably make it by invite, so it wouldn’t be a free-for-all. Specific purpose.

Need to balance “simple” with “works as expected.”

    1. Oh, that might be a while. Early next year, most likely. Not starting anything new before end of year.

But then, I’m gonna start it all at once and let it all race with itself to the finish line.
