As I entered the valley, what else could I be listening to but Shirley Kaiser's "Journey Within"? Besides its emotionally evocative effect on me, I thought the title was apropos. It's also how I know how long it took me to traverse the valley, 'cause Shirley was just finishing "Celebration", the last track, as I reached the viewpoint at the north end of the valley.
