Northern Arizona Mountains

I'm used to the mountains in California, where you get to the top, and immediately, like topping a triangle, you're on your way down. Not so in Arizona, where you can climb to a mile-high plateau and then cross through a mountain pass climbing up another two or three thousand feet.
